When to use the future tense
The simple future (futuro simple) says what will happen, and also expresses a guess about the present: “¿Dónde estará Ana?” (I wonder where Ana is). In speech, ir a + infinitive is often used instead.
How it is formed
Add é, ás, á, emos, éis, án to the whole infinitive. Irregular verbs change only the stem (tendr-, har-, dir-, podr-, querr-, sabr-, saldr-, pondr-, vendr-), never the endings.
Dar is regular here, so it is a good model for other verbs of the same class.

- Le doy un regalo a mi madre.I give a gift to my mother.
- Ellos me dieron las gracias. They thanked me.
Irregular yo form 'doy'; irregular preterite 'di, diste, dio...'; often used with indirect objects.
